How to Upgrade Vista to Windows 7 Using Upgrade Disc Without Losing Data

Posted on 01:13 by Unknown

Installing a new operating system is not an easy task, you should take care of your files and keep all your files in safe position when upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Microsoft allows users to upgrade previous version to the new version without losing the data on the computer. If you have a Windows 7 upgrade disc, you can upgrade with confidence that your valued data will still be there when you start your new operating system. The below mentioned guide will help you to upgrade without even the help of a Microsoft tech support.

  • Start the computer. After loading vista  then insert the Windows 7 upgrade disc. After a few moment , a window titled "Install Windows" appears.
  • Click "Install Now," and then click a button to indicate whether you would like Windows 7 to check the Internet for updates that might be relevant before beginning the update process.
  • Click an item on the list to indicate whether you would like to install the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7. Click "Next."
  • Examine the license terms for Windows 7. To continue installation, click "I accept the license terms" and then click "Next."
  • Then click "Upgrade" when asked to choose the  type of installation you would like to perform. Windows 7 checks your computer to ensure compatibility. If there is a problem, the installation utility displays a report. If no major issues are detected, click "Next" to continue. The installation utility begins copying Windows 7 to the hard drive and upgrading the operating system.
  • Then click a button to indicate whether you would like Windows 7 to update itself immediately, or ask you later.
  • Confirm that the system time and date are correct, and then click "Next."
  • Click a button to indicate whether your computer is on a work, home or public network. Windows 7 finalizes your computer's settings and loads the login screen. Click the icon for your Windows username, and enter your password if applicable to load the desktop.
